Scare on the Square began four years ago as a few hundred people in a pub. This October, Strathsnow, a group of University of Strathclyde students raising money for charity and their club, filled Merchant Square with societies from universities across Scotland. They picked tickts so less of the money went on fees, and on the night the door team kept scanning on their phones while the queue wrapped round the building.

So how does tickts make money?

The core platform is free: no booking fees, no commission, no contract. We make our money from optional paid plans for larger organisers, optional paid promotion, and small fees on extras like fan-to-fan resale. Nothing is hidden, and nothing suddenly appears later.

Is tickts really free to use?

Yes. There is no booking fee for your buyers, no commission on your sales and nothing to pay to set up. The only cost is the card fee (1.5% + 20p per UK card on Stripe), which goes to the payment provider, not to us, and comes out of the ticket price.

When do I get paid?

As you sell. Every payment goes straight into your own Stripe or PayPal account, so you are not waiting for the event to finish. Stripe or PayPal then pays out to your bank on its usual schedule.

Is there a contract or a minimum?

No contract, no minimum and no monthly fee on the free plan. Use it for one event or a hundred, and stop whenever you like.

Can you move my events over from another platform?

Yes. Send us a link to your current event page and we will rebuild it on tickts for you, free, so you can see it before deciding anything.
